Festive Orange Rosemary Water

Some of the best things in life are simple.  Sometimes just a little touch of effort can elevate something from mundane to festive.  And sometimes, it is these little touches of effort and care that make life memorable and pleasant.  That is the case with this festive orange rosemary water.  It is so simple that it can hardly be considered a recipe, yet I feel the urge to share it, because drinking a glass of it simply brightens up my day!

(I am!)  This infused water has no sugar (except maybe the tiniest bit of natural sugar from the orange slices).  Yet it is flavorful enough and pretty enough to feel like a treat, without the added calories.  I like to use sparkling water with it, though you can also use non-carbonated water.  When I drink a glass of this water, I feel like I am doing something good for my body.

It is snowing like crazy as I am writing this post.  The world outside my window is blanketed in white.  There is nothing so quiet as the silence of snow.  Although I do not enjoy driving in the snow (or worrying about my loved ones driving in it), I love everything else about it.  The air feels and smells clean after a snowfall.  Kind of like this orange rosemary water.  I hope you are having a great week so far, and stay warm! It’s cold out there!orange rosemary water at window

Festive Orange Rosemary Water

  • Servings: two glasses
  • Print

Ingredients:

  • 4 slices of an orange
  • 4 sprigs of fresh rosemary
  • 2 glasses of sparkling water or noncarbonated water
  • ice (if desired)

Directions:

Wash the orange and rosemary and pat dry.  Slice the orange and snip the rosemary sprigs.  Wrap and refrigerate the rest of the orange for future use, or eat it! Get out two glasses and place two orange slices and two rosemary sprigs in each glass.  Fill with water.  Add ice if you like.  The citrus and rosemary infuse quite quickly, so you can enjoy the flavor soon after preparing the drink. If you let it sit for a few minutes, the flavor will be a bit stronger.  Also, squeeze the orange slices a bit if you want more orange flavor. Enjoy!

I make this all the time with seltzer! I’ll have to try rosemary. I do think simple is best. No need for added sugar or anything else. Happy holidays!
